Patient Information

Dear Patients,

Do you know what exactly a specialist for laboratory medicine does? We mostly work with our team in the background. Your primary physician draws blood from you and sends to the laboratory to us. Here we create a lab report, and in the case of tough cases, we discuss our findings wth your physician. This is the way we normally work, and you most likely will never have to see us.

What many do not know is that you can also come to us directly. More and more frequently, patients are referred to us immediately, so that we can draw their blood directly in the laboratory. This is important to identify certain diseases because some of the tests we run are time sensitive, meaning that we cannot store the blood for a longer period of time.

We also do blood transfusions here at the lab and will personally advise our patiennts during difficult infections. You can also be referred to our coagulation clinics if you have a blood clotting problem and would like to have your questions answered.

By request, we will also do tests on your samples that are not covered by your insurance to help your healthcare.
